Why India as a Study abroad destination?

The Republic of India, founded in 1947 is the world’s largest democracy with 1.1 billion people, home of ancient civilization, birth place for two of the world’s great religions (Hinduism and Buddhism). India’s past and present mingle wherever one visits. For a student of South Asian Studies, India is a paradise for examining the cultural, historical, spiritual, architectural, anthropological, social, ecological, political, technological and business aspects, which is different from their own western culture. According to James O’Reilly, of Travelers’ Tales, “India is everything human. It is all of our history, it is the past, it is the future. If it has been thought, experienced or imagined, it has all happened before India and you can be sure it is happening right now”.
